Monday mornings are bad enough as it is...but this morning I was welcomed by thousands of dead termites laying under my desk. Yes, I know what you're saying...at least they were dead! Ah, yes, but it also would have been better if I had noticed them when I first sat down. Because our floors are dark wood and the termites are small and dark, I sat with my feet in dead bugs for a good thirty minutes before I got up and looked down to discover the disgust. At least I had shoes on...but they were just sling back sandals.
Neil, one of the partners at the firm said, "Oh, yeah, when I was here yesterday I looked over and saw the swarm of termites come flying out from behind your baseboard and then fall dead. I also sprayed them. Sorry, I forgot to clean them up but at least now they're not all goey and wet, they'll be easier to sweep up!" Hello!!!
So, I thought I could handle this. After all, they are dead. So I went to collect the broom and dust pan. I swept up a few that were beside my desk but when I got to the mass grave of dead bodies (literally by the thousands) I lost it. I almost threw up at my desk, wouldn't that have been a combination! It would have looked like I puked up bugs...ugh, I can't even think about it. So, I made my boss clean up my desk! Later in the day I found some more and made another of my co-workers clean it up. Luckily they were both fine with it. I still shudder when I think about it. The rest of the day I kept feeling like things were crawling all over me, and that there were bugs stuck in my throat.
I can only imagine what would have happened if they had decided to wait 12 more hours to hatch and I would have really had a treat on my hands!!! Gross!!!

You should be more worried about the roof falling on your head and the walls caving in while sitting at your desk (which will be filled with dead and LIVE termites). Throw a tennis ball at the wall and see if it keeps going. Then, duck.
Oh baby, you're such a girl :) in any case, some manner of pest control is clearly in order.
i'm sure if you had been sitting at my desk you would have screamed like a baby and crapped in your pants! don't call me a "girl"!
