Recently my family has experienced some close calls on the road. Friday my mom was on the interstate and it only took a second for her to look away when her tire caught the edge of the shoulder and as she tried to merge back onto the road she over-corrected a couple of times and ended up losing control of the car, running into a ditch, flipping and rolling her car and smashing into trees. She was luckily wearing her seatbelt and her small dog that was in the car was thrown from the car but was miraculously unscathed. On being released from the hospital and going back to see her car she has no idea or reason as to why she survived. The car is completely unsalvageable.
Sunday night (yesterday) my brother in Idaho was in a bad car accident involving someone who ran a red light. He was lucky in that she hit the front end of his car on his side. A second later and he would have been hit straight on. Again, his car is totaled, but he walked away. He has some minor pain, but at least he has his life.
So, I'm begging everyone...PLEASE BE CAREFUL...I don't want this trend to continue!

Yikes that sucks. Ex-Wife was almost killed by a drunk driver that did the same thing. Lady hit kimber just ahead of the door doing 40 if it had been another second she would have been killed. Still that accident snapped 3 of her left ribs at the spine and screwed up her face alot. Glad your brother is ok.
wow, he fared a lot better than she did...so did my mom. could have been a close one!
Well i'm glad they are ok. I've been lucky that all my mishaps are at low speed 40 mph or less.
